The HR Office organises staff training both as regular training events open for all staff and as tailored training sessions on request.

During the Coronavirus staff working from home (and not busy juggling video conferences, home schooling or caring for family) are encouraged to complete online training:

The University Information Services offer a range of self-taught online training courses, in case you are interested in learning new IT skills:

The Researcher Development Programme has a few online courses on offer for research staff, and more training for researchers can be found through the Researcher Development Hub.

  In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, My Family Care have organised a series of interactive webinars on maintaining mental health and good relationships, the challenges of home-schooling, looking after vulnerable or elderly adults, or work-related issues such as tips on remote working and how to support your team.


For anyone interested in mindfulness, a session is being run on Zoom at 12 noon on Monday which staff are welcome to join – please contact Livia on for details.

Some training sessions are open to all staff, and others are available by invitation only. You can book a place at the open training sessions by signing up via the link under Upcoming events (on the right hand side of this page).

The University's Personal and Professional Development Service provides a variety of courses for all staff.

The Research and Finance Office offer some researcher-specific training; more information can be found on their website.

The Postdoctoral Committee also organise training sessions for staff that are advertised on the Committee page.
