The Researcher and Visitor HR team can assist with the application of visas and Certificates of Sponsorship for Contract Research Staff, Visitors and Embedded Researchers. They deal with the following types of visa:
- Tier 2 Visa for Contract Research Staff employed by the University. Although the Researcher and Visitor HR team secures a Certificate of Sponsorship from the University, applicants must apply for the Tier 2 work permit themselves. The Researcher and Visitor HR team is not permitted to advise on visa applications, but the applicant can turn to the Compliance team for guidance by visiting their website or emailing them on: compliance-team@admin.cam.ac.uk.
- Business Visitor: Academic Visitor
- Points Based System Tier 4 (General Student Visa - please note that this applies only to visiting students, ie not Cambridge University registered students)
- Points Based System Tier 5 (Temporary Worker, Government Authorised Exchange Route-Sponsored Researchers)
